While your dog might find discarded barbecue embers irresistible (no accounting for taste) and all part of a fun day, they could prove fatal for your furry friend, for example.
And other hazards? Dr MacMillan advises owners to be aware of large holes in the sand which could be a trip hazard for dogs chasing toys; saltwater (it can dehydrate them); jellyfish (in case they’re stung) and strong currents and waves. Also, be aware of potential heatstroke – certain breeds are more susceptible.
