Any movie exploring friendship and survival against the odds will tug away at our heart strings – And Then Came the Nightjars doesn’t disappoint. The improbable friendship between a Devon farmer and the vet who’s assigned to cull his precious herd is central to the story, set against the backdrop of the 2001 foot-and-mouth outbreak and government attempts to control the disease. I’ve watched a preview, and just like the stage play it’s based on I reckon this movie’s a sure-fire hit. Well worth a viewing. On release in UK cinemas from September 1st. Starring Nigel Hastings & David Fielder “A heart-warming tale of friendship in a farming community” Anna Smith, Saga “Hastings and Fielder are hilarious together. I could have watched them bicker until the cows come home” Phoenix FM “Beautifully performed and shot” ★★★★ Movies1 ★★★★ Film-News.com ★★★★ Indiependent ★★★★ Film Review Daily |
